As a solo traveler, I stayed in the spacious and comfortable dorm room all to myself. The room was clean and well-maintained, providing a restful environment. The owner, Oku, was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great suggestions for exploring the city. She even surprised me with delicious Evangelion cookies. The location is convenient, with a shopping mall and train stations just a short walk away. I had a fantastic experience at Guest House Oku and would definitely stay here again.
Would recommend this hotel.

to note:
We were pleased to find beautifully designed and big size rooms at this traditional hotel. the location was favourable and incredible for Nara, near to sites like the Nara Park, Todaiji temple and Kasugataisha temple, and main temples. - the staff was thoughtful and gave us great advice. - It would be beneficial if you can expand on the amenities or any special features that you liked about the guest house. This could provide more insight for potential guests.

We had an amazing time at this cozy guesthouse! the house has a charming Japanese vibe and is conveniently located near public transit. Our room was spacious, with beautiful shoji doors, and the futons were so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning. Yoko, our host, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, inviting us to join her for meals and even playing the Shamisen for us. the conversations and connections we made here were truly memorable. We'll definitely be back!
Not one thing! 👍.

cozy, personal stay at a lovely guest house in Nara. Yoko, the owner, made us feel right at home and went above and beyond with her hospitality. Great location near the park and clean facilities. Would definitely recommend!
Low-lying wooden beam in dormitory needs padding.

The triple room at Guest House Oku was absolutely fantastic! It had a washing machine, which was a total lifesaver during my trip. The air conditioning was also a blessing, keeping me cool and comfortable after a long day of exploring Nara. It was the perfect room for a traveler like me!
Personally, I found the decor in the room a bit outdated, but hey, that's just my taste. Others might still enjoy it!
